OUT UWE
Back to Youth Listings
OutUWE is UWE’s LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans) Network. Within the network we promote equality and diversity across the board while working closely with contacts both within the university and outside. We deal with issues that affect LGBT students directly and indirectly as well as generally raising awareness with events such as LGBT History Month (February), Bristol Pride and our newly established Love Music Hate Homophobia event.
Money generated from activities and fundraisers is always put to either the membership or to local groups and charities. For those of you who are politically minded we are always interested in campaigning for equality and any other issues that may affect LGBT people, not to mention providing the opportunity to attend NUS LGBT Conference.
On top of this we have a highly active social calendar with activities catering for all sorts of people and occasions. We are always open to suggestions and would love to help out with any events you wish to run.
We have a few regular main events throughout the year including Halloween and Anti-Valentines themed Bar Crawls, a Love Music Hate Homophobia Event and of course attending Bristol Pride along with bowling and crazy golf.
We also partake in various trips outside of bristol throughout the year which have proved to be very successful in recent years. places previously attended include; Cardiff, Manchester and Brighton. Plus we are always welcome to suggestions of other places that people would like to visit so feel free to involve your ideas.
